Track Biography:
Rathcannon point-to-point has played host to many Hunts over the years and more recently to the Limerick Foxhounds & the Limerick Foxhounds Bruff point-to-point committee.
Many talented riders and horses have graduated from the Limerick Foxhounds point-to-point both when racing on the past venues and presently at Rathcannon.
The track itself is a left-handed course and has been in operation since 2008.
Our race meeting is situated just 40 minutes from Limerick city and just half an hour from the scenic town of Adare, making a trip to Rathcannon point-to-point part of a perfect Family Sunday.
How To Get There

By Road
From Limerick, take the M20 and at junction 5 exit onto the N20 Cork/Croom road. Stay on the N20 until you reach Banogue at which point the point-to-point will be sign posted from there. The race track is two miles from the village of Athlacca.
By Air
Shannon Airport is a 45 minute drive from the point-to-point.
Cork Airport is located an hour and twenty five minutes away.

OLD CASTLETOWN fits the profile of a likely early season maiden winner having been active under rules a little over a month ago in a Downpatrick bumper. Buble was a promising second at Ballysteen on his debut and could improve here while Lucky Cody is going the right way based on a narrow defeat on the final weekend of last season. Peg Polly is capable of giving her most to do while the track form of Miss Oscarose which saw her placed in a bumper earlier this season would make her very interesting if she can put her more recent runs behind her. Another one for consideration is Flemens Street if she can reproduce her run from Inch last season

Charlie Swift, who was a winner between the flags at the end of last season, could come here as a main danger having had the experience of 3 track runs over the summer. Ballymonteen Wood has some useful racecourse experience while at the other end of the scale the once raced Dusty Miller could be useful as he comes here unbeaten.

Benefit In Kind was only beaten 1 and quarter lengths on his debut at Necarne last season so could pose as the selections main danger. Based on his debut effort Stonemadforspeed could also be in with a chance. Breezy King could also be worth keeping an eye on.

Klassy ended last season in good form and will be suited by conditions here so could pose a big threat. If Annacarton can return to his best point to point form he would represent an obvious danger.
