Track Biography:

The Mid-Antrim Hunt was formally set up in the 1870’s as a harrier pack, although it was in existence for at least a hundred years before that. It was believed to have had its first official meeting in The Thatch Pub in Broughshane in 1875.

The Mid Antrim point-to-point Course is just outside Moneyglass very close to Toomebridge. Toome or Toomebridge (from Irish: Tuaim, meaning "tumulus"), is a small village and townland on the northwest corner of Lough Neagh in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Moneyglass was at one time home to Malachy McCourt and his family who was the father of Frank McCourt, author of Angela's Ashes, a winner of The Pulitzer Prize, the NBCC Award, The LA Times Award and the Royal Society of Literature Award.
 
Champion National Hunt jockey and 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year winner, Tony McCoy, who received an OBE in 2010, was born in Moneyglass.

Another sports star reared in Moneyglass was world famous Rugby Union player Willie John McBride who capped for Ireland on 63 occasions which includes 12 times as Captain.

By Road:

From Belfast, take the M2 towards Antrim. Toomebridge is 45 minutes from Belfast city.

From Dublin, take the M1 towards Belfast. From Belfast take the M2.

By Air

Toomebridge is located two hours and 15 minutes from Dublin airport and 30 minutes from Belfast airport.

As he is expected to improve for that experience, he looks the one to beat. Ballycash has the benefit of three previous starts and he ran well to be third at Taylorstown last May and is the clear alternative. Whilst Watyawaitingfor is showing signs of progress having finished fourth at Largy last April.

Having raced throughout the Summer, this fitness edge should see her home. South Circle was twice a final fence faller at Tyrella when holding a chance and she has since finished placed in a Downpatrick Bumper to boost her profile. Whilst Taboo demonstrated plenty of promise when finishing third on debut at Tyrella in January and she will be suited this drop back in grade.

REDBRIDGE RUDI was disputing the lead when coming down at the penultimate fence at Monksgrange last season in a competitive contest, and a clear round here would see him as the one to beat. The Secret Mason was unlucky to make a bad mistake in the closing stages at Broughsane on debut last season, but still managed to finish a close third on that occasion. He looks the clear alternative with improvement likely. Breezemount and Eluive Tunes are interesting newcomers to watch out for.

FIRE FIGHTER in an interesting ex-track recruit from the Flat having finished placed in the big Amateurs Handicap at the 2014 Galway Festival on his penultimate start, and this track should certainly play to his strengths. Luska Lad was a five-time winner last season, and he finished off last season in top form. He would add real interest to this race but may be better suited by the course at Rathcannon. Current Exchange and Carsonstown Boy are experienced campaigners but may be vulnerable to the selections speed advantage around this sharp track.

KNOCKRAHA BOSS also holds an alternative entry at Rathcannon tomorrow, but if connections choose to run here he could well be rewarded for the great consistency that he showed last season to finish placed three times on the bounce. The Brandy Man and American Image are quite evenly matched and are next best, whilst Maz Majecc returns from a spell under rules and could be suited by this switch.
