Track Biography:

Dromahane is one of the busiest courses on the point-to-point calendar, regularly hosting a number of fixtures each year for a number of different hunts, including Duhallow, Doneraile, Muskerry, Cloyne and Killeady from 1988 onwards. 

The track is owned by the O'Brien Family

The 2018 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Native River is at the top of the list of recent star graduates from Dromahane which also includes the likes of Graded winners No More Heroes, Marias Benefit, Free Expression, Seeyouatmidnight, alongside Cheltenham Festival winners Black Hercules and The Druids Nephew.

Most recent Dromahane graduates include: Grade 1 Aintree Festival novice hurdle winner Jonbon, Dual Champion Hurdle and 11 time Grade 1 winner Honeysuckle, 2021 Supreme novice hurdle winner Appreciate It, 2021 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Minella Indo and 2021 Albert Bartlett novice hurdle winner Vanillier.

How To Get There

By Road

From Mallow- At the roundabout take the N20 for Cork and continue out the road and take the R620 to Dromahane. In the village of Dromahane turn left up the hill. Continue up that road and veer left, (not to bweeng). Take the first left up that road. Use Eircode P51N6TO. It will be signposted from main road.

From Cork - On the Cork Mallow Road N20 turn left for Dromahane on the R620.In the village of Dromahane turn left up the hill. Continue up that road and veer left, (not to bweeng). Take the first left up that road. Use Eircode P51N6TO. It will be signposted from main road.

From Killarney - On the Main Mallow to Killarney Road (N72) on Navigation Road take a right on to the R621 and follow the road signposted for Dromahane. Use Eircode P51N6TO. It will be signposted from the main road.

Fiddle On The Hill is a nicely bred individual who filled the runner up spot on her latest start at Ballingarry in May. Molszac made a promising debut when fourth behind Shatterd Love at Lemonfield last season but the selection is MILAN LADY who has had the benefit of a run this season when fourth behind the geldings at Castletown and back against her own sex should be hard to beat.

FARM THE ROCK, a son of Yeats made a very pleasing debut when second in Ballindenisk. If he strips fit for his seasonal debut he should be the one to beat. Although held in third on his debut at Tralee, Poetic Rhythm will benefit from this experience, whilst his trainer Roisin Hickey is also responsible for the newcomer River Wilde and he is from the family of Harbour Pilot. Centreofexellence has had the benefit of a run this season when third on debut at Tinahely, and should progress for that start.

SHOUTING HILL has the benefit of a completed start this season when chasing home Shanroe Street in third at Castletown. With fitness on his side he could be the one to beat here. Joe Strawberries was running a big race at Loughrea last weekend when he fell four out whilst still on terms. If he can put in a clear round here he could be a danger. Double Take has a couple of placed efforts to his name and if he can reproduce his best he may be a danger.

The latter will be looking to end a run of three straight second placed finishes, however to do so he must overturn an almost 2 length defeat by the selection. Gabrielleamee is progressive and open to improvement which could bring her into contention.

FORTUNE BOUND has finished placed in three of her last four starts and would be a very worthy winner of this on the back of those runs. Her main danger could come in the form of track recruit Golander. Placed in a maiden hurdle at Tipperary back in April, she has a fair amount of experience to her name which would see offer a significant challenge to the selection. Shouting Hill looks next best.

BULLZEYE was sent off favourite for his debut Dungarvan back in January where he fell at the fourth last whilst holding an advantage. With the support of the market on that occasion having been sent off favourite, he should make amends here. Fontevraud was not beaten far by Knockraha Boss on the opening weekend of the season, and with the that horse franking the form with his Bumper run, he would therefore look the likely alternative.
