Track Biography:
Point-to-Point racing has a long and rich history at the scenic location of Fairwood Park, Tinahely, since 1989. Fairwood Park also plays host to the Tinahely Agricultural Show each summer which is one of Ireland's longest running agricultural show.
Jamie Codd, who is the second winning-most point-to-point rider in the history of the sport became the first modern day rider to ride all six winners on the one card at Tinahely in October 2011.
Previous track winners to have won at Tinahely include former Grade One winner Fundamentalist and Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own.
Tinahely is situated in the heart of the Wicklow countryside, the garden of Ireland. Located just an hour and half from the bustle of Dublin city, Tinahely is a pretty village in south west Wicklow that offers a variety of walking opportunities and a gateway to the beautiful Irish landscape.
How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin – Take the M50 southbound and turn onto the M11. At Junction 16, take the R772 to Rathnew. Continue on the R752/753 where the track will be sign posted.
From Waterford – Take the N9 until junction 5 where you need to take the N80 exit for Carlow/Rosslare.
By Air
Tinahely point-to-point is located an hour and forty minutes from Dublin airport.

GRANGECLARE ROSA was placed in 7 of her 10 starts under rules when with Willie Mullins, including most recently when second in a maiden hurdle at Wexford in October. On her first start for a new yard, she looks very hard to oppose with that form behind her. Sparkling River ran a highly commendable race to take second at Tattersalls and she would likely be the principal danger. Hillview Chloe was somewhat disappointing at Tattersalls last time, however she has strong form from Corbeagh House and Necarne, to suggest that if back to her best, she would likely hold claims, whilst the newcomer Hippy Hayley catches the eye.

CHASE ME has two very solid second-placed efforts to his name including when a well-supported favourite at Mainstown on his seasonal re-appearance back in November and he looks like the one to side with here with connections having taken a similar contest in testing conditions here with The Governor back in March 2014. Kindly Prince was narrowly in-front before jinking and unseating at the last at Tattersalls last month in what was a creditable effort. If he was to put in a clear round, he should be well capable of going very close. Hedginator represents the in-form Alan Fleming team on his pointing return following two runs on the track and he is interesting.

QUIET ACCOUNT has not stopped improving this season culminating in a career best second in the Punchestown Hunter Chase before Christmas. A likeable progressive type, he proved himself in similar conditions on that occasion, and he could well be the one to side with here. The Hard Hat is a three-time winner this season and he will therefore likely offer the greatest opposition. Need To Know is a previous course winner although his best if often on quicker ground, whilst Aupcharlie will likely have improved following his return run which saw him finish a close fourth at Mainstown.

OUR COMMANDER was disappointing a Lingstown in November, however it is worth taking a second chance on the Willie Codd-trained gelding as he had finished an eye-catching second at Rockfield earlier that month on what was his return from an absence. The winner of that race has since won a Handicap Chase at Fakenham to frank the form. Bobbythegangster has been in good form this season finishing second on both starts this term, and the Fairyhouse maiden winner will likely have the most to offer the selection. Kraken Tale has place claims following his Maralin maiden victory.

SO SORRY SARAH and Minmore Oscar have both finished second on their last two starts, however the preference is given to the former who has been the subject of market confidence on occasion recently, and this could be her opportunity to put her head in front for the first time. Minmore Oscar is a creditable alternative to the selection having only missed out by little over a length on her penultimate start at Ballinaboola. Meanwhile Touchy put in a career best to finish second at Mainstown in November in a big field contest, and if she could re-produce that effort, she would have to be viewed as a real danger.

Terry Tibbs is returning from a significant lay-off, however if he was able to re-capture some of his previous form which saw him finish second on three occasions, in addition to a fair fourth in a Tipperary Hunter Chase, he would therefore be a live danger despite his advancing years. Trixiebarry looks next best.
