Track Biography:
The Killeagh Point to Point race meeting has been held on the land of Joe and Bernie Hennessy at Knockane for over 30 years. It is generally held in the middle of January. With one of the best viewing tracks for spectators over-looking all five fences, the atmosphere at the finish is often electric according to the jockeys.
It is one of the most accessible Point to Point courses in Ireland with its location only 1.5 miles off the N25 (Cork/Waterford Road) with the excellent road network leading from all corners of the country.
The Committee of Killeagh Point to Point has a large number of racing aficionados from the local community including Owners, Trainers, Breeders and Jockeys to name a few that help to make Killeagh Point to Point as successful as it is. Local volunteers contribute their free time to the committee who take pride in the fact that the sport is thriving in rural Ireland.

How To Get There
By Road:
From Cork (35mins);
Take the N25 eastbound towards Rosslare. After driving through the village of Castlemartyr, take the 1st right turn after 2km.
From Waterford (1hr);
Take N25 westbound towards Cork. After driving through the village of Killeagh, take the 1st turn left after 3km.
From Tallow (30 mins);
Take the Youghal road and follow the N25 westbound towards Cork.
By Bus/Rail:
Bus;
There are regular Bus Services by Bus Èireann via Route 40 & 260. You can get off at either the Killeagh or Castlemartyr stops. Check out www.buseireann.ie
Rail;
There are regular trains from Kent Station, Cork to Midleton (closest stop to Point to Point). There are taxis that can take you to the course. Check out www.irishrail.ie
By Air;
Cork Airport is only 40 minutes from the track while Dublin Airport is approx. 3 hours away. Both Airports have excellent road links to the course.

NICATS BENEFIT has been running consistently well during the Autumn including when a commendable second at Borris last month. With race fitness on her side, it would not be a surprise to see the Tom Keating-trained mare come out on top here. Queeny was not beaten far on debut at Inch back in April, and he would likely be open to more improvement, whilst Clondaw Fell was third at Boulta, and Kool Lady an eye-catching fourth on debut at Tinahely, with the latter pair also holding entries at Templencarriga.

BARACALU holds entries at all three of the fixtures this weekend and if taking up this engagement he may prove to be the one to side with of those with experience. A final fence faller at Corbeagh House in November when holding the narrow advantage, he has already proved himself in the conditions and therefore sets the standard in this. Arctic Destination is well-bred type and he stayed-on well in the closing stages to take third on his debut at Boulta back in November. That introductory effort will likely have brought him on for this. Ben The Boyo and Minmore Present are next best.

BENNYS GIRL is a very tough and genuine race mare who was placed seven times last season. Having finished a creditable second on her seasonal re-appearance at Glenbane in Nobember, she should be perfectly positioned to take this. Michaelamaystar is looking to end a run of three second-placed efforts and as she enters this race in top form, she could prove to be the chief danger. Boston Lady was a worthy maiden winner at Lingstown in November having run well on a number of occasions and it would be no surprise to see her fair strongly on her first start out of maiden company.

That was close to three years ago, and so he does have to overcome a significant absence, however if anywhere close to that level, he should be able to take this. Nevskij put in a career best to take a Hunter Chase at Punchestown last month, and his presence here will ensure that the selection will face a stiff test. B L Swagger was an impressive winner at Dromahane and is another to enter the reckoning if the selection fails to fire.
