Track Biography:

The Carbery Hunt has being running point-to-point races for over fifty years. Racing has being run on the present course for over thirty years, before that races were held on the famous mountain racecourse in Waterfall.

2006 Cheltenham Foxhunter winner, Whyso Mayo won his last race at Bandon at the age of 15 having won here on four occasions during his career. He was owned and bred by Mr Edward O’Driscoll, Master of the Carberry Foxhounds.

Donnchadh Doyle could hold the key to this contest as his pair of MONBEG CHIT CHAT and No Secrets Here enter the race with the strongest form in the book with the former getting the marginal preference owing to his eye-catching debut at Oldtown behind Derrinross. Minella For All still held claims when falling at the penultimate fence at Punchestown on his debut, and he will likely enter the shake-up, whilst Glenabo Bridge represents connections who had a winner at Kildorrey last week and is deserving of respect.

RUAIRIS CLOUD enters the race having finished second at Tallow earlier this month in a race where the form has worked out quite well recently with the winner Kilcolman Hill winning again at Cragmore, whilst the third horse was a winner at Durrow last Saturday. Roughty King has been unable to match the promise of his debut third at Inch last season, however if he was capable of bouncing back to his best, he could get involved. Sudski is another who has failed to reach the level he displayed last season, but on his day he has claims.

ROYALS AND REBELS drops back in grade here having finished second in a winners contest earlier this month at Belharbour, and this may allow him to get off the mark on his sixth career start. Ballyhoulihan has been in consistent form of late finishing placed in his latest two starts, and he is a contender, whilst Trixiebarry could get involved on his best form, however he took a very heavy fall at Knockanard which would be a concern.

DOESNTBOTHERME has been a progressive sort this season, and although she was a faller at Tinahely last week, she should be given a second chance here as providing this does not come too soon, she had run well at Oldtown when second earlier this month. Cloneen Dream has finished second twice this season and is one of a host of horses with placed form to their name including Darsis Mistress, Lauras Lark, Thats My Goal and Ms Princess, who all hold place claims once again.

VANGUARD has been campaigned at a higher level, and although he has had plenty of opportunities, he could return back to winning ways here owing to this drop down in grade. Front At The last was a winner just 6 days ago at Durrow and is sure to enjoy the conditions which will be a positive, whilst the mare Michealamaystar is capable of landing a blow at her best.
