Track Biography:
The Mid-Antrim Hunt was formally set up in the 1870’s as a harrier pack, although it was in existence for at least a hundred years before that. It was believed to have had its first official meeting in The Thatch Pub in Broughshane in 1875.
The Mid Antrim point-to-point Course is just outside Moneyglass very close to Toomebridge. Toome or Toomebridge (from Irish: Tuaim, meaning "tumulus"), is a small village and townland on the northwest corner of Lough Neagh in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Moneyglass was at one time home to Malachy McCourt and his family who was the father of Frank McCourt, author of Angela's Ashes, a winner of The Pulitzer Prize, the NBCC Award, The LA Times Award and the Royal Society of Literature Award.
Champion National Hunt jockey and 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year winner, Tony McCoy, who received an OBE in 2010, was born in Moneyglass.
Another sports star reared in Moneyglass was world famous Rugby Union player Willie John McBride who capped for Ireland on 63 occasions which includes 12 times as Captain.
How To Get There
Raceview Rd going left to right is the way you will come in from the A26 which is off the M2. Access to the course if from the Caherty Road, and cars will approach from off the Woodside Road, and Lorries and Horseboxes by driving through Broughshane turning right at the Yellow Slemish Tavern and then first right again onto the Caherty Road.
Directions to the track
Coming in from the A26, Horse boxes and lorries will be asked to approach the track by driving through Broughshane, and cars will turn off left just before the entrance to the village.

LOUGH DERG SPRIT finished just over 5 lengths behind the impressive Claimantakinforgan on his debut at Loughanmore over Easter and as a result he sets the standard of those with previous experience behind them. Novemberstorm was only beaten 5 lengths at Largy late last month, and having shown signs of improvement from his debut, he is certainly going the right way, whilst stable companion Scottshill was a final fence faller on his debut and he had offered plenty of encouragement prior to that late departure. The market will give the best guide of the newcomers.

CABRAGH has been knocking on the door for some time now and had the misfortune of being disqualified at Fairyhouse recently when first past the post for taking the wrong course. He would be a deserving winner here. The Secret Mason was third in this race last year and now has his first start for Jim Dreaper following an unlucky campaign this season blighted by jumping errors. The Ian Ferguson-trained Bamos Dalbain is well-bred and he is worth a second look in the preliminaries ahead of his debut here.
