Track Biography:
The Killeagh Point to Point race meeting has been held on the land of Joe and Bernie Hennessy at Knockane for over 30 years. It is generally held in the middle of January. With one of the best viewing tracks for spectators over-looking all five fences, the atmosphere at the finish is often electric according to the jockeys.
It is one of the most accessible Point to Point courses in Ireland with its location only 1.5 miles off the N25 (Cork/Waterford Road) with the excellent road network leading from all corners of the country.
The Committee of Killeagh Point to Point has a large number of racing aficionados from the local community including Owners, Trainers, Breeders and Jockeys to name a few that help to make Killeagh Point to Point as successful as it is. Local volunteers contribute their free time to the committee who take pride in the fact that the sport is thriving in rural Ireland.

How To Get There
By Road:
From Cork (35mins);
Take the N25 eastbound towards Rosslare. After driving through the village of Castlemartyr, take the 1st right turn after 2km.
From Waterford (1hr);
Take N25 westbound towards Cork. After driving through the village of Killeagh, take the 1st turn left after 3km.
From Tallow (30 mins);
Take the Youghal road and follow the N25 westbound towards Cork.
By Bus/Rail:
Bus;
There are regular Bus Services by Bus Èireann via Route 40 & 260. You can get off at either the Killeagh or Castlemartyr stops. Check out www.buseireann.ie
Rail;
There are regular trains from Kent Station, Cork to Midleton (closest stop to Point to Point). There are taxis that can take you to the course. Check out www.irishrail.ie
By Air;
Cork Airport is only 40 minutes from the track while Dublin Airport is approx. 3 hours away. Both Airports have excellent road links to the course.

AUNT EVA was sent off as a short-priced favourite ahead of her seasonal re-appearance at Tinahely last Sunday when she came down at the third-last whilst still travelling powerfully at the time. Placed in some competitive races last season, she should gain compensation here. Going Away stepped-up on her initial outing to finish second at Boulta on New Years Day, whilst Cheryls Dream is the other potential runner with placed form having finished third at Aghabullogue last weekend. She too holds place claims.

The Roisin Hickey-trained KNOCKOURA was only beaten a length on his debut at Lisronagh last month by Phoebus Lescribaa, and that opening effort should see him perfectly positioned to get off the mark here. Minella Encore could be the chief danger if bypassing some potential entries at the International fixture at Barbury on Saturday, as he looked a most unlucky penultimate fence faller at Borris House on his debut before Christmas. He will be expected to go close. The twice-placed De Rasher Counter and Boulta fourth Shackleton can also get involved.

TOUCHY has been in top form throughout the Autumn and was last seen defeating geldings at Ballinaboola back in November. Coming here fresh, she can double-up in this contest. Michealamaystar is now 14 runs since her last success, however she ran one of her best races to chase home Maple Mons on New Years Day and is the obvious danger on that basis. Ballytier Princess, an impressive wide-margin victor at Dromahane appears to be the pick of those stepping-up from maiden company, whilst Rock Solid was most unfortunate at Boulta in December, and can run a big race here.

Despite having failed to finish all four of her previous starts, the Liam Kenny-trained OUR HENRIETTA has given every indication before exiting in recent times that she is a maiden winner in waiting, with Chapter Two whom she was chasing home when falling two-out at Borris, advertising the form at Tinahely last Sunday, where Our Henrietta once again came a cropper whilst going well on the same card. Nuevo Molino is steadily progressing and is unexposed, whilst Vivalino, Toor Present and Honest To Goodness are others to consider.

Another classy looking open where SYDNEY PAGET could extend his winning run to five. Whilst likely not at his very best at Dromahane recently, he has only been defeated twice in his last nine starts and is tough to defeat between the flags. Aughnacurraveel has not been far away recently, First Lieutenant has fitness on his side having returned to form when second last Sunday, whilst stable companion Buckers Bridge, a Boulta winner in the Autumn, finished a creditable third at Down Royal over Christmas. Of the others Colour Squadron has previously finished second in a Grade 1 contest, however he has not been seen since finishing seventh in the 2015 Kerry National and may well need the run.

That opening effort could leave this unexposed son of Lakeshore Road perfectly primed for this. The Colin Bowe pairing of Coopers Square and Lacken Bridge have been highly tried over the course of the season and are likely not going to be too far away, whilst Enbarr Of Mannan, Esthers Present and Highandmightly have all showed potential in the past can get involved.
