Track Biography:
Most commonly know now as the home of Irish Jump Racing Punchestowns history begins with Kildare Hunt Club.
One of the oldest in the country, the history of the Kildare Hunt Club goes back as far as the 18th century with the first Master being Squire Connolly of Castletown.
The Hunt Club would host races in various locations around the county but in the 1840’s during the master ship of John La Touche the members of Kildare Hunt Club decided to buy the lands at Punchestown.
Those lands are still held by the trustees of Kildare Hunt Club and continue to be used as the location for the point-to-point.

By Road
Take the N7 out of Dublin for Approx 20 miles and take the Naas exit. Go into Naas and turn left towards Punchestown on the R410 and then at a cross roads motorists take a right turn.
By Air
Our point-to-point is located fifty minutes from Dublin airport.

MONEYMAKER represents the Gigginstown House Stud and Joseph OBrien combination and he offered plenty of encouragement with his third placing on debut at Nenagh in testing conditions. With that opening run under his belt, he should go close here. The Willie Codd-trained Lostintranslation caught the eye on debut when finishing fourth on debut in a competitive looking race at Tattersalls in November behind subsequent sales-topper Cool Getaway and he should give a good account of himself. Myoldman and Coolanly both finished placed on debut and can enter the frame.

Having finished second in this race in 2014, HASTY TIMES has won the last two renewals of this contest, including when dead-heating with Enniskillen who could potentially re-oppose here in last year?s renewal. Whilst the former has not been seen since finishing third in the Bishopscourt Cup at last years Festival, Enniskillen has three runs under his belt this season including when beaten 50 lengths over the Cross Country course here last Sunday. Ballinaboola maiden winner Buzzkillbob would look to be the pick of the remainder.

SPRINTINGFORGOLD brings the strongest form from this season into the race having enjoy a rapid rise through the ranks to record an impressive debut open success at Nenagh last month, his third straight victory in a short space of time. If Aupcharlie was to line-up here this could be his stiffest test to date, as the Alan Potts-owned 11-year-old was only beaten five lengths by On The Fringe in last years Foxhunters at the Cheltenham Festival. He could have his first start for the Jim Dreaper yard here. Valco De Touzaine joins Pat Doyle with a 140-rating over fences following a profitable track career with Paul Nicholls, whilst Art Of Logisitcs is another classy track recruit who is a previous Grade 3 winner at this venue.

BEN BRODY finished just two lengths in arrears of Sprintingforgold at Lingstown back in December, and the form of that run has since been franked notably as his conqueror has gone on to win a further two races including in open company. Ben Brody can therefore be expected to go close as he looks to overcome a narrow defeat at Nenagh recently. Enbarr Of Mannan only went down by a neck at Curraghmore last season and he can be expected to step-up from his third-placing at Killeagh on his seasonal re-appearance, whilst Ben Again filled the runners-up spot at Ballyvodock last month and enters the race in good form.
