Track Biography:
Set amongst the picturesque Blackstairs Mountains, our race track is located close to the parade ring, bookies, final fence and the finish line making it extremely assessable for all of the family to view the day’s action.
Our point-to-point is located on the grounds of the beautiful Borris House which is one of the few intact living Irish estates that can trace its history back to Brehon times, and the royal ruling families of ancient Ireland. The estate is the family home of the 16th generation of McMorrough Kavanagh’s and still contains the majority of its original furniture, paintings, documentary archives and other historic family artefacts.
Borris House is a popular wedding venue with a range of beautiful accommodation offers to choose from as well as providing tours of the estate.

By Road
From Dublin - Take the N7 towards Limerick/Cork/Waterford. Continue onto the M8 until division in the road, keep left and continue on the M9. Follow signs for N10/Waterford/Kilkenny. At junction 6, take the R448. Take the R705 to Borris village
From Kilkenny - From the M9, take the R702 east through Gowran and Gorsebridge to Borris. The point-to-point will be sign posted from the village.

The Donnchadh Doyle-trained CHOSEN PATH finished a close third in what looked a very competitive contest at Knockanard on his debut a fortnight ago. That race was over the shorter 2m4f trip and the extra half-a-mile should suit as he was staying-on all the way to the line. The French-bred Darius Des Bois was a final fence faller at Tallow when likely set for second and he can be expected to run well. Meanwhile, Global Racing was still going well on his debut against older horses on his debut in a British point at Barbury and it will be interesting how he fares here.

The well-bred newcomer PEACOCKS SECRET is a full-brother to the 142-rated hurdler Clondaw Court and he should play a big role in this on debut as he hails from the same connections who produced last seasons Grade 1 Cheltenham Festival victor Black Hercules to make a winning debut at Dromahane. Caviar DAllen and Royal Rendezvous have shown ability recently, whilst Satinspar was placed in two Bumpers. Myoldman was unlucky at Kirkistown earlier this month and U No Like finished second on debut to ensure they are also worth consideration.

The father and son team of John and Luke Murphy have enjoyed success with Bloodstream this season and their KYGO would look the pick of this big field having chased home the impressive Monbeg Zena on her debut at Ballinaboola at the beginning of the month. Shroughmore Lass has finished second on both of her starts to date and could be the main danger, whilst Vivalino posted her career best around here in December, but disappointed subsequently at Killeagh which is a concern.

A very competitive looking race with Punchestown second ART OF LOGISTICS getting the tentative selection. Former Gold Cup second Sir Des Champs is expected to have come on for his open debut last Sunday and is the danger. Peter Flood picked-up three open lightweights with Ourmanmassini during the Autumn campaign and his nine-year-old can pick-up where he left off on his return from a mid-season break. The Dreaper team give Cavite Beta his Irish points debut having only been beaten by three lengths at Galway in October. Whilst Valco De Touzaine, Maple Mons and Free Of Charge are others of note.
