Track Biography:
Dromahane is one of the busiest courses on the point-to-point calendar, regularly hosting a number of fixtures each year for a number of different hunts, including Duhallow, Doneraile, Muskerry, Cloyne and Killeady from 1988 onwards.
The track is owned by the O'Brien Family
The 2018 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Native River is at the top of the list of recent star graduates from Dromahane which also includes the likes of Graded winners No More Heroes, Marias Benefit, Free Expression, Seeyouatmidnight, alongside Cheltenham Festival winners Black Hercules and The Druids Nephew.
Most recent Dromahane graduates include: Grade 1 Aintree Festival novice hurdle winner Jonbon, Dual Champion Hurdle and 11 time Grade 1 winner Honeysuckle, 2021 Supreme novice hurdle winner Appreciate It, 2021 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Minella Indo and 2021 Albert Bartlett novice hurdle winner Vanillier.
How To Get There
By Road
From Mallow- At the roundabout take the N20 for Cork and continue out the road and take the R620 to Dromahane. In the village of Dromahane turn left up the hill. Continue up that road and veer left, (not to bweeng). Take the first left up that road. Use Eircode P51N6TO. It will be signposted from main road.
From Cork - On the Cork Mallow Road N20 turn left for Dromahane on the R620.In the village of Dromahane turn left up the hill. Continue up that road and veer left, (not to bweeng). Take the first left up that road. Use Eircode P51N6TO. It will be signposted from main road.
From Killarney - On the Main Mallow to Killarney Road (N72) on Navigation Road take a right on to the R621 and follow the road signposted for Dromahane. Use Eircode P51N6TO. It will be signposted from the main road.

Preview
Sporting Press looked set to finish third on debut at Cragmore last month when being brought down two from the finish. Trained by Donncadh Doyle, the Flemensfirth gelding is expected to improve for that initial outing and should go close in this event. Overworkdunderpaid finished third in a Tinahely maiden and is also expected to be involved, while of the newcomers Crio Cuervos represent the in-form handler Denis Murphy and much was expected of his debut to suggest he can step-up.

What Another Year still held every chance when falling at the final fence on debut and the Colin Bowe-trained gelding showed he was none the worse for the fall when finishing third at Lemonfield early this month. He should improve for that run and is likely to run well in this. Gotaway was well-supported before his debut at Bellharbour and caught the eye when finishing third. He is another who should improve and make an impact, whilst Cockle Bay, Calisson D Alene and Glorious Galway are others who can get involved.

Sprintingforgold has been a model of consistency since making his debut at Loughanmore in 2014. The eight-year-old has yet to finish outside of the first two in six runs and goes in search of a five-timer. Trained by James Doyle he should prove hard to beat if lining up here. B L Swagger will be bidding for a three-timer and the nine-year-old has really hit form of late. Sent off a short-priced favourite at Lemonfield recently, it would be no surprise to see him get his head in front. Truckin All Night and Murdo Mackenzie look the best of the remainder.

Trained by Robert Tyner, Smithscorner took three efforts to get off the mark, however the six-year-old looked a much improved horse following a short break when he ran out a fine winner of a maiden at Bellharbour under Derek O Connor. The son of Kadeed can be expected to continue to improve and if in the same form here he should have a solid chance. Ben Again is still a maiden following seven attempts but has hinted there is enough ability there to get his head in front. Trained by Garrett Ahern, the son of Beneficial came closest when finishing second at Ballyvodock and if returning to that form he would have a serious chance here. Doc Carver ran with more promise when placing on his most recent run and would rate a danger, along with Checker Hill who also finished third on his seasonal debut at Cragmore.

The form of her third placed finish at Tallow in early February is the best on offer here and if able to put that fall behind her, she should go close. Milano Citizen put in a much improved effort for handler Eugene O Sullivan last time out and should she build on that, she is likely to play a hand. Ballyhoulihan could prove best of the rest.
