Track Biography:
We run a two-day point-to-point each spring beside the grounds of Durrow Abbey House and Durrow Church which was founded by St Columba in 553.
The back straight runs right in front of the beautiful Durrow Abbey House and makes the point-to-point one of the most picturesque meetings in Ireland. The grounds of our well-presented race track, with its compact location of parade ring, bookies, finish line and services give a pleasant race day experience close to the action.
Our point-to-point is located 10 minutes away from the town of Tullamore which has an abundance of pubs and restaurants as well as plenty of shops and popular tourist attractions such as Tullamore’s large distillery which makes Tullamore Dew, a popular Irish whiskey.
How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin: Take the N4 and then the M4 towards Sligo/Galway/N5/N6. Continue on the M6, follow signs for Galway/Athlone. At junction 5, take the N52 exit to Tullamore/Kilbeggan. At roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto N52.
From Galway: Follow the M6 motorway, Exit at junction 6 for Kilbeggan. Once off the motorway, take the N52 Kilbeggan to Tullamore road. Durrow is three miles from this exit on the right hand side.

Our point-to-point is located an hour and ten minutes from Dublin airport.

Trained by Gordon Ellitott, this Gigginstown House Stud representative is sure to be well fancied having cost connections 85,000 pounds. Gigginstown had two four-year-old winners last weekend and with the Gordon Elliott stable in scintillating form, this mare is sure to be popular in the market. Trainer Colin Bowe is double handed with Victoria Bay and Western Victory entered here, while Donnchadh Doyle and Denis Murphy also have newcomers entered which are sure to worthy of consideration.

DEAL WITH IT was an expensive purchase and cost connections 135,000 euro at Tattersalls back in August of last year. KAMIL is also a Gigginstown House Stud recruit and fetched 65,000 pounds from Goffs UK. The stable produced Valdieu to win a similar event at The Pigeons last weekend, so connections will be hopeful either of these two can oblige here. Overworkdunderpaid brings the best form to the table having placed twice in two starts for Colin Bowe and is also likely to be popular.

HOWAYA AOIFE was a nice winner on debut at Tyrella earlier this month and looked the type that would continue to improve with racing. If doing so, she could be tough to stop here. Wilcosdiana has only been out of the first three once in five starts and looked on good terms with herself when finishing second at Knockanard last time out. She is likely to run another solid race, along with Little Misshamrock who was a very impressive 12-length winner at Nenagh in January.
