Track Biography:
The County Louth Foxhounds were founded in 1817 and one of the few packs of Old English breed of hounds in Ireland.
One of the real attractions of point-to-point racing is the opportunity to get up close and personal with the future stars of the racing world in a relaxed and family friendly environment.
Our annual point-to-point typically takes place at the beginning of April. Situated almost exactly half way between Dublin and Belfast on the Carlingford road, the estate has been in the Tipping family since the early 18th Century.
A short step from the house, the cottage walk leads you towards ‘Tippings Wood’ and as you pass through the wonderfully crafted stone arch, a lake of 1.2 acres lies to your left. As the amazing 200 acres of deciduous woodlands unfolds all around you, the ground rises to the summit of Tippings Rock, where views of Ravensdale, The Cooley Peninsula and the sea give you ample reward for your short climb.
How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin - Take the N1 and then M1 from the M50 in Dublin. Take the N52 exit towards Dundalk North. Follow the R173 to Bellurgan Park.
By Air
Bellurgan point-to-point is located less than an hour from Dublin Airport and Belfast Airport.

The James King-trained GETAWAY MIXIE was still travelling powerfully on debut when coming down with three fences to jump at Durrow last month and she could best positioned to gain compensation in this. Western Victory was sent off as the favourite for her debut at Monksgrange a fortnight ago and ran an encouraging race. She can be expected to step-up here, whilst the Aidan Fitzgerald four-year-olds are in great form and his newcomer Daylight Katie is one to keep an eye on if appearing here.

BURNING AMBITION was only beaten by subsequent multiple winner Fightfirewithfire on debut at Ballinaboola before comfortably defeating Black Scorpion by 10-lengths, a horse who has since won his next two starts on the bounce. On that form, he could prove very tough to beat in this. Hugo N Taz only found the vastly more experienced Jack Devine too good in winners company at Horse and Jockey, whilst the Tony Martin-trained Danboru overcame a mistake at the final fence to get off the mark at the first time of asking at Kirkistown and he is another capable of entering the mix alongside Freewheelin Dylan who made his first start for the in-form Dermot McLoughlin stable a winning one at Maralin last month.

Fresh from a mid-season break, she could be the horse to beat in what looks a tricky affair. Queen Matilda has placed track from to her name and she could be a danger having come down at the fourth-last at Loughbrickland last Saturday on her pointing debut. Monksgrange second Rathbawn Rose, and Derravaragh Lucy, who finished fourth at Tyrella on debut in a race which has already produced a subsequent winner, can also get involved on that evidence.

The Niall Madden yard enjoyed a profitable weekend on the track last Sunday, and Pass The Ball, who finished a close second last Sunday at Castletown on his return from a two year lay-off and first foray into this sphere can be expected to go close. The three-time placed Mullamurphy Blue is the standout danger, whilst both Taylors Guest and Sarsfields Legend have shown that they are capable of maiden success in the past, however they would need to step-up slightly on their more recent efforts. Pop The Champers is well-bred and may be able to get closer than his recent fourth at Monksgrange.
