Track Biography:
The Ormond Point to Point is staged on a Hunt Members farm just outside the village of Ballingarry (N52). It is run over 2 days, always the Sunday & Monday of the June Bank Holiday weekend, and is the final fixture of the Point to Point Season.
We have been fortunate enough to have many Point to Point champions crowned in Ballingarry. Derek O’Connor, Jamie Codd and Barry O’Neill have all won their titles at Ballingarry in recent times.
How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin – Head south on M7 take exit for Roscrea. In Roscrea follow signposts to Shinrone. Enter Shinrone turn left into village and then right out of village. 6Km to Ballingarry. In Ballingarry turn right in front of The Glue Pot pub. Then left out of the village. The course is less than 1km out of village on the left.
From Tullamore – Through Birr at round about past Count Arms Hotel take 3rd exit following the signpost for Borrisokane. Next round about take 3rd exit. Remain on this road for approx. 8km to Ballingarry. Half way through the village turn right for Aglish. The course is less than 1km out of village on the left.
From Limerick – M7 North. Take 1st Exit for Nenagh. Follow the signs for Borrisokane (12 KM from Nenagh). In Borrisokane drive through the town, at the bottom of the town turn right following the signs for Birr and Ballingarry (5km). Half way through the village past the pub turn left out of the village. The course is less than 1km out of village on the left.

Our point-to-point is located an hour and three quaters from Cork and Shannon Aiports, and just two hours from Dublin Airport.

The grey FIFTY SHADES could be turned out quickly having run at Inchydoney last Sunday. The Sean Doyle-trained Tajraasi gelding was still holding place chances when coming down at the second-last. A reproduction of that effort should see him go close in a race like this. Game In The Park is one of the most experienced runners in the race with three runs to his name including a fifth at Grennan last month. Willie Codd has his stable top form and that would ensure that his two entrants Legend Of Zorro and the newcomer Timesawaiting could be of interest.

MAPLENSA has been knocking on the door for some time now with plenty of encouraging efforts this season. Only beaten a length by Kings Dolly at Ballyvodock in January, a horse who has since finished a close second in a Cork Bumper, she sets the standard for this. Cloudy Day was an early casualty at Tralee last Saturday and will look to gain amends here, whilst Lady In Black hails from a yard who had a horse run well at a big price at Ballinrobe during the week and could be able to get involved.

SCREAMING COLOURS went very close to making a winning debut at Oldcastle in April and having only been touched off by a neck, it would not take a great deal of improvement to get his head in front here. Stable companion Williamthesixth has hit the crossbar on both starts to date and would be the obvious danger if both were take up this engagement, whilst Mcgroarty and Seskin Flyer both enter the race following second-placed efforts of late and are potential threats.

A repeat bid could see him defeat Imperial Oscar who was in the winners enclosure at Inchydoney last Sunday. AJIJIC would be a very worthy winner of this big-field contest as he has had to settle for the runners-up spot in each of his last three starts including most recently at Inchydoney last Sunday. He will face plenty of challengers here including Some Tank and Premier Steel who have both finished in the money recently, whilst Laces Out and The Real Balotelli have decent form in the book and can get involved if recapturing their best.
