The track itself is a left-handed course and has been in operation since 2008.

Our race meeting is situated just 40 minutes from Limerick city and just half an hour from the scenic town of Adare, making a trip to Rathcannon point-to-point part of a perfect Family Sunday.

GOLDENCARD bumped into a very smart looking youngster when chasing home Chooseyourweapon, a horse who subsequently made 210,000 pounds at the sales, at Inch on his sole outing last season. Unsurprisingly, big things will be expected of him here. Getaway Trump was unable to repeat his promising Curraghmore debut at Lisronagh last time, but can go close on his best, whilst Shanacoole, Ask JD, Macgiloney, Sprinting Press and Oscar Flame are others all capable of getting involved.

YOUCANNOTBESERIOUS has some very serious track form to his name, having finished second in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown last Christmas. The horse that he chased home on that occasion, Montalbano, went on to win at the Punchestown Festival, suggesting that this should be a penalty kick for him. Over The Arch, who was unlucky to part company with his rider in the closing stages at Ballindenisk last season, holds definite chances on his Curraghmore effort, although he does look to hold a much easier alternative entry at Tinahely. That may leave the likes of Duhallow Tornado or Upsettheodds as the other main dangers.

RATHBAWN ROSE is back between the flags after finishing fourth in a Killarney maiden hurdle during the summer, and she is a mare that did well to finish as close as she did on her last outing in the pointing fields at Bellurgan Park, when she gave away valuable ground at the start. Having twice hit the crossbar, this could be her chance to get her head in front. Cloudy Day went close at Loughrea last Sunday and so comes here a racefit rival, whilst Robin On The Hill and Kilnesare Kate are others who can get involved.

ROBIN THE HARE was unlucky to come down in the closing stages at Loughrea last Sunday whilst still holding the advantage, and he can gain compensation here. Knockraha Boss, the horse who benefitted from his departure, is the obvious dangers, whilst Aztec Chief, a horse who we do not see all that regularly, is capable of bold display if on top form on his return from a long absence.

WILCOSDIANA hails from a very much in-form stable and having run particularly well in a big field hunter chase at Cork last Easter, she could kick-start her campaign with success here. Sliabh Mhuire Lass could take the step from maiden to open company here, but she was an impressive winner at Loughrea in April suggesting that she could be a danger alongside Bloodstream, a dual winner from last season, who also finished third in the Gain Series Final.

BLUE TEMPLAR finished alongside horses who are proven in open company when third in the Ladies Cup at the Punchestown Festival in April, and whilst back over conventional obstacles here, that is an interesting piece of form. Streets Of Milan holds a number of winnable alternatives this weekend, but would be a tough opponent if lining up here. Meanwhile, Crookesmoor was not without support when he made his debut at Loughrea last Sunday, before falling at the midway point.
