Track Biography:
Set amongst the picturesque Blackstairs Mountains, our race track is located close to the parade ring, bookies, final fence and the finish line making it extremely assessable for all of the family to view the day’s action.
Our point-to-point is located on the grounds of the beautiful Borris House which is one of the few intact living Irish estates that can trace its history back to Brehon times, and the royal ruling families of ancient Ireland. The estate is the family home of the 16th generation of McMorrough Kavanagh’s and still contains the majority of its original furniture, paintings, documentary archives and other historic family artefacts.
Borris House is a popular wedding venue with a range of beautiful accommodation offers to choose from as well as providing tours of the estate.

How To Get There

By Road
From Dublin - Take the N7 towards Limerick/Cork/Waterford. Continue onto the M8 until division in the road, keep left and continue on the M9. Follow signs for N10/Waterford/Kilkenny. At junction 6, take the R448. Take the R705 to Borris village
From Kilkenny - From the M9, take the R702 east through Gowran and Gorsebridge to Borris. The point-to-point will be sign posted from the village.

Our point-to-point is located an hour and forty minutes from Dublin airport.

No, we do not have an official dress code we just advise our race goers to dress warmly with waterproof shoes or boots.
Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments.
At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.
No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop in the nearby village of Borris on your way to the races.

A mistake at the final fence could have proved costly for SIEGE OF TOBRUK who had to settle for second at Boulta recently in a big field contest, and that could leave her as the horse to beat. The Colin Bowe-trained Lorvon Pearl finished third in that same contest, on what was her debut and will not need to find that much more improvement to challenge, alongside the consistent Malachys Girl who has finished second on three occasions including behind the impressive Queens Cave. Western Victory, Go Millie Go, and Cavs Girl are others all capable of big runs.

Tom Keating won a similar race at Mainstown last Sunday, ensuring his Reikers Island would have to be feared here having been narrowly beaten at Kinsale. Press Conference, Timcoda, Big Difference, and Noflashback have all shown early ability to date and are capable of big runs.

The Secret Mason has switched yards since finishing second at Grennan and is returning from a lay-off, whilst Coach Road was in front at this venue in February only to cost himself a shot at victory with a very slow jump at the final fence.
