Track Biography:

The point-to-point course is located at Loughanmore, Dunadry near Templepatrick.

Our landowner, Wilson Dennison has owned and produced a number of top-class national hunt horses including graded winners Yorkhill, Shaneshill, and Bellshill.

Our point-to-point is proud to have launched the career of many talented young horses who have gone on to make six figure sums at the horse-in-training sales in both Ireland and the UK.  Some of the leading names include the Cheltenham festival winner Ted Veale and the Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Truckers Tavern.

Its reputation as one of the premier tracks in the country, ensures that is has a particularly strong recent roll of honour, with the four-year-old maiden that is run at their Easter fixture really standing up to the test of time.

Disabled parking and toilets are provided at the track which allows all race goers to enjoy their days racing.

In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland

Our outside food caterers are located beside the parade ring and bookies. They supply a variety of tasty hot foods such as burgers, sausages and chips.

If you would like to satisfy your sweet tooth we have a doughnut stall and an extensive sweet and chocolate stand that sells a selection of delicious goodies. There is also an ice cream van in attendance on the day.

Alternatively, why not come along early and enjoy a picnic before the action gets under way or take a break midway through the day to refuel from the boot of your car.

Last years winner Lisnagreggan is back to defend his title once again, but he may face a tougher test in this if MANETTI was to take up this engagement. The Portrush maiden winner is a very consistent performer who enters the race in good form having finished second at Tyrella recently. Mayohill has four-year-old form to his name which will stand to him here, whilst Knockan Run came home in front in a big field maiden and can run well again here.

COSMIC FLIGHT is long overdue a maiden success for his owner-breeder Patricia Duffin as he was very unlucky to exit on each of his opening three efforts including at Moira in December when looking the likely winner. Some Response was a beaten favourite around here in October but bounced back to form at Tyrella recently which bodes well, whilst Captain Cook was only narrowly denied at Kirkistown earlier in the month and he is another that a strong chance has to be given to.

TIN TOWN LIZ has taken all before her this season and it is hard to look past her brining up a hat-trick in this. He Knows My Name has been a busy campaigner of late and she ran a cracking race to finish second in a hunter chase at Downpatrick to ensure that she would seem to be the obvious alternative. Holy Motivation was an impressive winner of her maiden at Tinahely and is likely open to the most improvement, whilst Cloudy Day could not be discounted if the ground came up on the softer side following her comprehensive victory at Horse and Jockey.

Ground Invasion lowered the colours of FELIX YONGER at Kirkistown recently, however Ground Invasion was very disappointing at Durrow last week, and it may be that the extra week that the former Grade 1 winner has had could allow him to overturn the placings. Red Devil Boys is back from 12 months on the side-lines and stable companion Vinnie Luck was well beaten last time, whilst Chosen Dream is a horse that could run well as he was a winner in the autumn and is better than his latest effort.

The returning Annie McCarroll has not been seen since disappointing at Moira in December, and whilst her Kirkistown performance would entitle her to go close, preference is given to Lady Of Derrygally. She brings more recent form into the race having finished second at Tyrella two weeks ago and could go one better here.

WATYAWAITINGFOR took a big step forward when he finished second at Tyrella behind Knockan Run, and he would not have to find much improvement to get his head in front here. Recent Durrow runner-up, So Rustic, enters the race in good form and is the obvious alternative, whilst Templepoint and Drumconnor are others to have hinted that they could get involved in a race like this.
