Track Biography:

The Longford point-to-point has been taking place on the grounds of Corbeagh House, Ballinalee, Co. Longford since 2015. Our track is centrally located with it being only six miles from Longford town and 20 miles from the towns of Mullingar, Athlone, Cavan and Roscommon.

The racetrack, which is situated overlooking the picturesque Corbeagh Lake, is a one mile circuit with a long straight stretch down the back with a slight uphill climb to the finish.

2017 Champion point-to-point mare, Maple Mons, won the first of seven races last season at Corbeagh House.

How To Get There

By Road

From Dublin – Take the N4 Longford/Sligo road. Turn right at the first roundabout in Edgeworthstown. The course is approximately three miles from here.

From the West- Head east to Longford town. Take the Longford bypass and the course will be signposted at several points on the road.

By Air

Our point-to-point is located an hour and a half from Dublin airport.

There is a large concrete yard available for parking lorries/horseboxes and there is ample on-field parking for cars which means you are never too far away from all the action.

We have part of the parking sectioned off for any disabled spectators. It is a perfect viewing point of the whole course.

In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

In the den in the lorry yard we offer home-made soup, scones and sandwiches.

Our country market stall holders have a delicious selection of artisan food.

There will also be an outside catering vendor who has a variety of catering options from tasty burgers and chips to bacon and sausage rolls.

There is a wide variety on offer for race goers.

In our 'Den' in the lorry yard we have teas and coffee available and for those looking for something a little more substantial why not try our homemade soup.

Our country market stalls will also have a selection of hot and cold drinks.

The outside catering vendor will also be selling minerals, so there is plenty of choice for all the Family!

No, we do not have an official dress code we just advise our race goers to wear comfortable clothing and boots/wellies.
Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments.
At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.
No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop in the nearby town of Edgeworthstown which is three miles away.

The point-to-point field is a natural amphitheatre which affords a spectacular view of the entire course for racegoers.

We also have a selection of Ballynacarrigy county market stall holders who sell delicious home-made jams, chutneys, breads and cakes.

Our point-to-point is a big event for the local community from which we receive great help and support.

Local publican, Neil Rawle, offers free soup and sandwiches to all racegoers at Rawles pub in Ballinalee something which he has done since the first point-to-point took place at Corbeagh House.
