Track Biography:
The Stonehall Harriers were formed in 1911 and have their kennels in Bansha Askeaton, Co. Limerick.
Point-to-points have been a large part of the hunts calendar for many years.
We now run 3 meetings a year Ballysteen & Moig South.
Many talented riders and horses have graduated from the Stonehall Harriers point-to-points Adrian Maguire rode his first winner on this track which we hope to see this continuing in the years to come.
This will be our second year in Cragmore on the Costello’s Family land and is a terrific track which is always very well received.
Grade 1 winner Death Duty won his four-year-old maiden here in 2015 and provided Derek O’Connor with his 1000th winner between the flags, making him the first point-to-point rider to ever achieve this remarkable milestone.

By Road
From Limerick: Take the N69 road (Listowel Road), it will be signposted from Askeaton

Our point-to-point is located forty minutes from Shannon airport.

Our point to point offers spectator’s brilliant viewing facilities and race goers can get really close the action.
We have parking facilities for any of disabled spectators, where they will get a great view of the track.
We have a road way into the point-to-point with an unlimited amount of parking spaces. We also have a marquee on the day which racegoers can shelter in if the weather turns wet.
We have plenty of portaloos situated around the field also.
Our betting ring is located beside the parade ring. Some of our bookmakers will also take bets on track racing and sometimes provide pictures of the track racing also.

Our Ladies Committee doing the catering on the day where they serve freshly made sandwiches and cakes in our hospitality tent.
We also have a chip van on site for anyone looking for something a little more substantial & for the first time we will have a mobile PIZZA van on site this year.
For the children and those with a sweet tooth we have a sweet stand which sells a variety of confectionery.

So there is something to suit all the family!
No dress code, but it is advisable to wear appropriate winter gear as the weather varies a lot this time of year. Wellies are a must!
Yes, but please keep them on a lead.
Yes! Picnics are welcome but please use waste bins provided.
At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.
We do not have an ATM on site but Askeaton is our nearest village which is located not too far from the track.

Cragmore point-to-point is the perfect day out for the family in the countryside and as an added bonus for parents all children U16 have free admission.
With Limerick city only 30 minutes from the track, there is an endless amount of attractions to keep you busy within the area. The picturesque town of Killarney is also only an hour and half drive from the point-to-point.

PUSH PUSH is not short of experience with six runs already under her belt, and having finished a close second in two of her last three starts, she is surely not too far away from securing that elusive breakthrough success. Crystal Waves and Cloudy Rosie both made encouraging debuts in recent weeks, whilst Aloo Bonda would likely have finished closer at Kildorrery but for a final-fence error, and she is another potential contender.

UNKNOWN STRANGER took a big step forward when finishing a close fourth at Peppards Castle last time, and he will look to break the stranglehold that Wexford-trained runners have had on this race of late. Go Down Rockin has made the placings in each of his two starts to date, whilst Jackson Court came from off the pace to finish third at Dromahane over Christmas and is entitled to get closer with that initial effort under his belt.

This race has thrown up some great renewals of late, and this years renewal looks set to be no different, with the entry headlined by top hunter chaser ITS ON THE LINE. Second at the last three Cheltenham Festivals, he was back in the winners enclosure at Down Royal over Christmas and sets the standard for this. Hunters Yarn is the big danger as he has won two of his three starts at this level, including when easily dismissing the former Irish Gold Cup winner Conflated in tough conditions at Aghabullogue last time. He has already beaten the potentially reopposing Fakir Doudairies this season, whilst leading mare, The Great Unknown, has not finished outside of the first two in each of her nine starts since joining Sam Curling.

This has quite an open look to it, but a chance is taken that DROMLEIGH can bounce back from a non-completion in Hunter Chase company at Clonmel last time. Prior to that, he had finished placed in four consecutive runs and would be deserving of a second career success. Regal Prince ran out a wide-margin winner on his debut, and whilst this is a step up in grade, it was a promising start to his career, while Begger and Foxy Rock are another pair of last-time-out maiden winners that are respected.

KEEP ON DREAMING had been sent off as the favourite for a maiden hunter chase at Limerick over Christmas, and whilst he was well beaten on that occasion, he could bounce back here. Black Dakota has been quite unlucky to date, falling late on in two of his three starts, but he likely would have gone close but for coming down two-out in Dromahane over Christmas, whilst King Peak is an ex-Willie Mullins-trained seven-year-old who finished a close third in a Cork bumper behind the subsequent American National runner-up on his one and only outing to date.
